Huehn, W. Haufe, US 2392531 (1946); Andersen, US 2492085 (1949 to Elizabeth Arden). Structural studies and physicochemical properties: D. L. Teagarden et al., J. Pharm. Sci. 70, 758, 762 (1981). Phosphate binding activity and use in hyperphosphatemia: DE 3147869 (1983 to Nefro-Pharma), C.A. 99, 110747a (1983).
Properties: Glassy solid. Dissolves in water, forming slightly turbid colloidal solns (up to 55% w/w). pH of 15% aq soln ~4.3.
Use: In antiperspirants.
