Properties: Deliquesc, cubic crystals, granules or cryst powder; sharp saline taste. mp 613° when anhydr; bp 1360°; d 2.07. One gram dissolves in 1.3 ml cold, 0.8 ml boiling water; sol in alcohol, acetone, amyl alcohol, pyridine. The aq soln is neutral or slightly alkaline. Keep well closed. LD50 in mice (mg/kg): 990 i.p.; in rats (mg/kg): 600 i.p., 4.8 i.v. (Wielosz).
