Properties: Occurs in nature as the mineral brochantite; monohydrate as the mineral langite. Initial product formed during preparation of Bordeaux mixture, q.v., from CuSO4 and Ca(OH)2: Frear, loc. cit. Also prepd from CuSO4 and Cu(OH)2: Denk, Leschhorn, Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 336, 58 (1965). Very finely divided, light blue, gelatinous particles. Practically insol in water. Sol in plant and mineral acids, NH4OH.
