Three dimensional: bulk nanostructured materials consisting of nanometer-sized grains or particles or nanoporous.Since the proportion of atoms in the grain boundaries or particle surfaces can be equivalent to those inside the grain or particle interiors for nanostructured materials, these grain boundaries and particles surface result in properties and performance that are largely different than those of conventional materials with larger particle or grain sizes.
