Pentagon has been manufacturing at its Workington, UK site since 1975. During this period it has been part of the Suter Plc and Ascot Plc groups which also encompassed the former Chemoxy International and Mitchell Cotts businesses that remained within the Dow group following the MBO. The company manufactures a wide range of speciality and fine chemicals for an array of industry uses on a contract, custom or toll manufacture basis and is also a world -wide exporter of its own range of products through its local agent network. In December 2003, Pentagon acquired the former Great Lakes site at Halebank in the UK and added a second company - Pentagon Fine Chemicals Limited to its group and can now offer major strengths in Bromination, Chlorination, Sodium Hydride, Sodium dispersion, Vilsmeier Technology and Phosgenation capabilities for its customer base. Both Pentagon sites have a proud track record in introducing new techniques to solve complex chemical and chemical engineering problems.
