DMTD is an acronym for 2,5 -dimercapto-1,3,4 -thiodiazole.
DMTD can perform as a corrosion inhibitor, metal deactivator, EP/AW agents in coolant, water-based fluids, and metalworking fluids.
DMTD is also widely used as an important thiadiazole intermediate in lubricant, rubber, pharmaceutical, electrochemistry industries for preparation of many other final products.
DMTD has also been used for many years in flame-retardant products.
DMTD is utilized in a variety of other applications including synthesizing polymers and heavy metal and basic salts; in cross linking halogenated polymers; in electrode compositions; as an intermediate or starting material for pharmaceuticals and dyes; as a chelating agent in the analysis of metals; in purifying and treating waste; and as a biocide.
